Visit our Pilates Website. Click Here Pilates is an exercise system developed specifically to improve muscle tone, flexibility, balance and posture. Pilates is great for people who don't have the opportunity to move freely during everyday activities, and who are looking for a gentler, more holistic way to improve muscle tone, suppleness and functional strength. Our classes are run by Osteopaths so not only are you in safe, qualified hands but you may be eligible for a private health rebate. Clinical Pilates (individual sessions)
If you suffer from back pain, sciatica, shoulder or neck pain, our individual Pilates sessions can make a dramatic difference for you. Individual sessions are tailored to your specific needs and are a precise combination of Osteopathic treatment and Clinical Pilates movement therapy (that’s right we treat you and get you moving). During our one-one sessions we evaluate your body type, posture, past medical history and address any rehabilitation requirements. This information is then used to design a personalised program utilizing swiss ball/matt work/foam roller/spring wall and reformers. You'll safely strengthen your core and improve your posture and your body mechanics, so you can do things again, that you haven't been able to do for ages. Pregnancy/Mum & Bub Sessions: Our small group classes are an excellent choice for women during or after their pregnancy as our targeted exercises strengthen abdominals, pelvic and back muscles in a low impact and controlled environment. These muscle groups are frequently troublesome during this time especially as the pregnancy progresses.
Pilates also increases flexibility, endurance and balance, which are essential for a healthy labor, delivery and recovery. Following the birth of your child it is important to restore function and strength to these areas to ensure that you can engage in all of the strenuous yet enjoyable daily activities of motherhood. No more than four people per class allows us to take the care and attention necessary during this time. Bring your friends or better yet your mothers group. Group (Reformer) Sessions: If you've tried Mat Pilates classes, and want to go deeper into Pilates, then this is the next level. In a specialized Pilates class using Pilates Reformer machines, you will move your body towards balance as you strengthen, lengthen, tone and stretch yourself in places you didn't even know you had The Reformer machine adjusts to suit your individual body shape, your flexibility and your strength. Within a supervised group class of no more than 6 people, you'll be guided through a varied routine every session. Perfect if you need to feel more balanced, toned and supple. |
